Their expressive faces and subtle differences in hand finishing give the pair wonderful character.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe undersides retain firing openings along with simple hand-painted workshop marks—an “X” to one and three short marks to the other.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eCondition:\u003cbr\u003eAntique condition with age-related wear consistent with use and age, including scattered glaze wear, small flakes, firing imperfections, and losses to painted\/gilt decoration. One lion has a mismatched eye that appears either replaced or altered\/lacking its original amber coloration, now appearing clear\/gray. Additional minor surface imperfections and base wear visible. No hairline cracks observed.
