A wonderfully sculptural vintage brass candlestick made in India, featuring an elaborate arrangement of paired cranes or herons and fish surrounding a slender architectural central column.
The lower portion features two long-legged birds beneath a shallow dish, while a pair of stylized fish decorate the upper stem below the taper candle cup. A stepped pedestal base with shaped feet completes the distinctive silhouette.
The combination of polished brass, animal motifs and tall vertical proportions gives the piece a collected, worldly quality that works beautifully in traditional, English country, chinoiserie and layered interiors. Particularly striking styled on a mantel, console, dining table or among books and collected objects.
Marked “MADE IN INDIA.”
Measures approximately 12.25” high × 4.125” wide × 2.75” deep.
Good vintage condition with age-appropriate patina, surface wear and oxidation consistent with age. Please review photographs for condition.
Candle shown for styling purposes only and is not included.
