Vintage Hand-Painted Cast Iron Fruit Tray
A substantial vintage cast iron tray featuring a charming hand-painted fruit still life against a deep black ground.
The center is decorated with yellow pears, clusters of burgundy and green grapes, leafy vines and small white flowers. The elongated form has softly rounded ends, a raised rim and integral open handles at either side.
The underside retains its textured cast surface. One handle bears a raised numeral that appears as a 6 or 9 depending on orientation. No manufacturer’s name or definitive maker’s mark has been identified.
With its dark finish and traditional fruit motif, this is a beautiful decorative piece for a kitchen, dining room, sideboard or collected tabletop display.
Condition:
Good vintage condition with visible surface wear, scratches, finish variations and other signs of previous use consistent with age. The painted decoration shows some age-related wear. Please review all photographs closely as they form part of the condition description.
