Vintage framed needlepoint depicting a Scottish MacKinnon Highlander in full tartan dress, posed with a longbow and archery target.
24"x 21"
The composition is based on the MacKinnon plate from The Clans of the Scottish Highlands, illustrated by R. R. McIan and published in 1845, with the original image lithographed by W. Bosley. This example is a later handworked needlepoint interpretation of the historic image and is not the original 1845 lithograph.
