A wonderfully decorative vintage brass mirror featuring a distinctive keyhole-shaped architectural opening surrounded by richly embossed ornament.
The rectangular brass-clad frame is worked throughout with repeating geometric borders, scrolling motifs, dotted decoration, stylized leaves and small star forms. The arched upper portion of the mirror recalls traditional Moorish and Middle Eastern architectural forms, giving the relatively compact piece an especially strong presence.
The brass has developed a warm, softly aged surface with darker coloration settling naturally into the recessed decoration. The mirror retains its simple hanging loop to the reverse and works beautifully displayed on a gallery wall, above a small chest or layered into a collected tabletop arrangement.
Measurements: approximately 14” high × 10” wide.
Condition: Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. The brass surface shows patination, oxidation, spotting, scratches and variations in tone consistent with age and use. The embossed frame has minor irregularities and wear throughout. Mirrored glass shows scattered age-related spotting and surface marks but remains clear and reflective. The reverse shows scratches, wear and older adhesive/tape residue around portions of the perimeter. Hanging loop remains present. Please review all photographs for additional condition details.
