A beautifully decorative vintage porcelain casket box featuring warm gilt and brown floral ornament against a crisp white porcelain ground.
The gently domed lid is centered with an elaborate floral bouquet surrounded by scrolling gilt borders, while coordinating floral details continue around the sides. An ornate gold-tone metal frame, hinge and clasp surround the porcelain lid and give the piece the appearance of a traditional European jewelry casket.
The decoration continues inside, with floral medallions embellishing both the underside of the lid and the interior base—a particularly lovely detail when the box is displayed open.
Perfect for rings, small jewelry, keepsakes, or simply displayed on a dressing table, nightstand or collected vanity.
Measurements: Approximately 4.5” long × 3.75” wide × 2.25” high.
Condition: Vintage condition with age-related wear to the gilded decoration and gold-tone metal mounts, including areas of patina, tarnish and surface wear. Light discoloration and small age-related marks are visible to the porcelain, particularly around the interior and underside edges. The hinge and clasp are present. The underside bears a red “D-35” designation. No identifiable maker’s mark is present.
